Erdogan: We Shall not Allow Disaster in Cyprus

“The government of the Turkish Republic will not enter a path whose end will be disaster” said PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan. (His remarks came one day after Turkish Cypriot President Rauf Denktas said, while announcing his decision not to attend talks in Cyprus that the Annan Plan would cause a disaster for Turkish Cypriots, in this shape.”

Asked to comment on the decision of Denktas, Erdogan said “This is not a very important issue. We can talk about these among ourselves. And solve them.”

Denktas must be here

On his way back from the airport, Erdogan said that “Denktas must be in this business; he was here since the beginning.”

Gul: Heroic speeches lead nowhere

FM Gul said that Denktas had not said anything about his decision to him, when they talked a day before and “Heroic speeches lead nowhere.”
