Denktas to urge ‘No’ to UN plan if no changes

Turkish Cypriot President Rauf Denktas said he would advise his community to reject a UN plan to reunite Cyprus in an April referendum if there were no changes during negotiations.

Speaking on Tuesday evening to Turkish Cypriot television, Denktas also echoed comments from Athens suggesting the talks could run beyond a May 1 deadline, when the Greek Cypriot south joins the European Union.
