2/3 of Iraqis Oppose Coalition Forces in Iraq

The poll carried out by the private Iraq Strategic Research Center found that while 66 percent of Iraqis oppose the coalition forces, only 41 percent would feel more secure if those forces were to leave Iraq.

When asked if Iraq was progressing towards peace and stability, 40 percent said ‘Yes’ and 22 percent said ‘No’.

The Iraq Strategic Research Center polled 1,500 Iraqis between June 20 and 27 in the cities of Baghdad, Ramadi, Basra, Hille, Suleymaniye, Musul (Mosul) and Bakuba.
